Are We Your Church? |
|
Finding the right fit in a local congregation is a
little like Goldilocks' adventure with the three bears---a "just right"
fit is hard to find. That is because church is different things to
different people. Some people have come out of large, sacramental
churches where form and liturgy define their experience of God. Others
have come out of small, family churches where everyone knows everyone
else and a service is like somebody's living room gathering. Still more
have really never had a viable encounter with God in church, so
they are on a fresh adventure. We realize not everyone is going to
feel as if we are a "fit" for them, but there are some things that
will help most people find a home at PBC...

Most of us have an inaccurate picture of "Church."
Jesus expected that "the Church" would express itself as His Body---that
it would think, act, and love like Him! It would not be known as an
organization, but as a family. It would not limit itself to times
of impersonal worship in sterile environments, but would be expressive
of the exuberance and joy that is the product of being forgiven of
one's sins and connected to people that love us who are beginning
to look more like their Master every day.

School of Discipleship |

The adult School of Discipleship is a place to
grow in our understanding of the Bible and it's core Truths. It is
also a place to meet people and develop relationships that encourage
us in the living out of those Truths.
Each Sunday morning we meet together, in a variety of classes
that feature teaching and group discussion.
